Remember how last time I talked about a tiny printer? Yeah… this one is quite the opposite. A beast. Uhm, paperreka may or may have not acquired more printing stuff. Meet Morris. As I dive into more and more type and printing related matters in the paperreka shop, I could not miss the opportunity to attend the film screening of Typeface at the Cincinnati Contemporary Arts Center. What a great film documenting the Hamilton Wood Type Museum. The Midwestern museum and print shop is located in Wisconsin and is working to bring old craftsmen and young designers together to preserve the historic significance of typography. Talk about inspiration, it just keeps coming my way! As many of you know I have a not-so-secret obsession with anything letterpress…the process, the goods, the machinery…you name it! I visited Igloo press in Columbus recently for a tour and ventured over to Indianapolis a few Saturdays ago to look at presses for sale…while totally tempted by the presses there, I used some self-restraint and committed myself to more researching.
